Philippines credit card limit calculator

Enter one applicant or cardholder to see the credit card limit in the Philippines. The result is the lowest of what card behaviour allows, what income carries after other debts and what the rules allow, with the rule that binds named.

Market and caps

The Philippine rules are read from the Credit Card Industry Regulation Law, Republic Act 10870 of 2016, section 9, and BSP Circular 1165 of 2023. The issuer sets the limit from the cardholder’s credit standing and financial capacity, the cardholder may decline an increase, and interest on the unpaid balance is capped at 3% a month. There is no cap on the limit. Check the current text before relying on them.

The interest rate changes the result only for the United Kingdom, Australia, France, Belgium and Mexico, and the repayment period only for the United Kingdom.

0 leaves this cap off.

The limit is ₱180,000, set by behaviour limit. Behaviour gives ₱180,000, income carries ₱340,000, and the market’s rules allow no cap, which reflects an income cap in some markets and a repayment test in others.

High utilisation with enough statements paid in full earns the large increase.

Behaviour limit, New applicant = Starting income multiple × Monthly net income
Behaviour limit, Cardholder = Today’s limit × (1 + Large increase | Small increase) or × (1 − Cut after missed payments)
Affordability limit = (Income share for all debt payments × Monthly net income − Other debt payments) ÷ Card payment share of limit
Own income cap = Own income cap × Monthly net income
Market = Lowest applicable market cap
Credit limit = min(Behaviour limit, Affordability limit, Own income cap, Market), Rounded down Rounding step

The affordability limit assumes the card is fully drawn, and the behaviour rules are an example policy to edit, not a standard. Regulatory caps are summaries for this tool and are not legal advice.

How Philippines card limits are set

The Philippine Credit Card Industry Regulation Law says an issuer sets the limit from the cardholder’s credit standing and financial capacity. The page places that rule beside the affordability limit and shows the cap on interest on an unpaid balance.

The credit card limit is the lowest of the candidates, and the one that binds changes from person to person. Use the result to review one applicant or cardholder and edit the example behaviour policy.
