Synthetic identity fraud
Synthetic identity fraud is fraud that uses an identity assembled from real details and invented details. Stolen identity fraud uses another person's identity, whereas a synthetic identity combines pieces that may each look plausible but do not belong together, making it harder to recognise at application.
Example
For illustration, an applicant uses a real person's identity number with an invented name, address, email and phone number. Some checks may recognise the real number, but the overall application does not describe that person; the mismatch calls for investigation rather than proving fraud.
Decisimo's fraud decisioning can match application details separately against a lender's own confirmed-fraud list, then let rules interpret multiple matches on one record.
