Credit decisioning

Credit decisioning is the application of a lender's policy to data gathered about a credit applicant to decide whether to approve the application and on what terms, such as the limit and price. The result is an outcome, such as approval or decline, together with the reason for it.

Example

For illustration, a lender’s policy could approve an $8,000 limit at 12% for a credit request that meets its income and existing-debt conditions. The decision records the approval, the limit, the price and the policy reason.

On the credit decisioning software page, Decisimo runs the lender’s policy as a decision flow and returns approve, decline or refer with a limit, a price and a plain-language reason.
