Other credit agreements and their NCA caps
The NCR’s market report calls secured credit the category Reg 42 uses for credit outside its other listed types. Find the maximum interest rate and fees at the current repo rate, plus decision table cells for a credit decision.
What counts as an other credit agreement
Reg 42 Table A names other credit agreements for credit that is none of the other types. The NCR's market report groups pension-backed and insurance-backed loans, retail furniture accounts and motor vehicle accounts as secured credit.
The classification tells the lender which maximum interest rate and fee limits apply. It also identifies the relevant assessment for the credit decision.
Maximum interest rate and fees
Reg 42 sets the maximum interest rate and initiation fee, and Reg 44 sets the service fee cap. The interest rate cap is set over the repo rate, so it moves with each Monetary Policy Committee decision.
